It’s almost fall which means Gart of Rotten Variety and I will be back at Canzine Toronto, serving up another helping of self-published marvels for your enjoyment! Canzine is the biggest zine festival hosting events across Canada and it’s a great way to discover a vibrant scene of artists. This year in addition to my self-published zines, I’ll also be bringing:
- Ricepaper Magazine’s Currents anthology. Get acquainted with new Asian-Canadian writers including yours truly!
- The final volume of Speculative Relationships which includes my story based on Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow (mention either of them and I’ll give you a special discount).
I hope to see you there!
In other news, the comics poetry journal, Ink Brick, will be debuting its 9th volume at SPX to which I’m a contributor. I was lucky enough to receive a digital copy of the issue and it is 🔥🔥🔥. If you’re not attending SPX, you can also nab a copy online.
Ink Brick’s 8th volume also recently received an Ignatz nomination so do check it out! It’s great to see comics that do not conform to a literary, “graphic novel” approach get recognized. If the idea of comics poetry excites you, or if you are a fan of publishers like kuš and 2d cloud, it’s definitely worth checking out Ink Brick.
